Trust is the only thing that makes a career publication worth reading. This page explains how we research, write, review, and maintain everything on Godavest — and how we keep our advice credible, practical, and independent.

How we choose what to cover

We write about the real problems people face at every stage of a career: a resume that isn't getting replies, an interview that feels impossible to prepare for, a raise that's overdue, a difficult manager. Ideas come from reader questions, our own experience on both sides of the hiring table, and the patterns we see people struggle with again and again. We do not chase trends or fears for traffic's sake.

Who writes our advice

Every article is written or edited by a named member of our team with real hiring, recruiting, or management experience — people who have screened resumes, run interviews, made offers, and mentored employees. That first-hand perspective is the whole point: we tell you what actually gets a candidate shortlisted or an employee promoted, not what sounds good in theory. You can meet the team on our about page.

How we research and write

Our work is grounded in experience and evidence. We draw on first-hand hiring knowledge, recognised and credible sources, and current hiring practices — then we translate it into plain, specific advice you can actually use. Claims that depend on data are linked to their source, and we try to be honest when something varies by employer, region, or law rather than presenting it as a universal rule.

Reader-first independence

We hold every draft to a simple standard: does this genuinely help the reader make a better decision? We are never paid to recommend an employer, a course, a recruiter, or a tool, and we do not run pay-for-placement "advice." Our only loyalty is to the person reading — not to any company that might want favourable coverage.

Editing and review

Before publication, each piece is reviewed for accuracy, clarity, and usefulness, and checked against our policy that articles offer general information rather than professional advice for an individual's specific situation. When a topic touches law, taxes, contracts, or money, we say clearly that readers should consult a qualified professional — see our disclaimer.

Our use of AI tools

Our articles are written and edited by people. We may use software for spell-checking, research, or suggesting outlines, but a human writer with relevant experience is responsible for the substance, accuracy, and final wording of everything we publish. We do not publish auto-generated content.

Independence and advertising

Godavest is funded by advertising, including Google AdSense, and, occasionally, affiliate links. To protect your trust:

  • We never accept payment to recommend an employer, product, or service in editorial content.
  • Advertising is clearly distinguishable from articles.
  • Affiliate relationships never change our judgement — see our disclaimer for the full disclosure.

Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes, and when we do, we fix them quickly and transparently. If you spot an error or an out-of-date detail, email [email protected] or use our contact form. Substantive corrections are noted on the article.

Updates

Because hiring practices and tools evolve, we revisit popular guides and refresh them. When a piece is meaningfully updated, the publication date reflects the most recent revision.
